Alan has dedicated his entire working life to the travel industry, having started as a 16-year-old trainee at Thomas Cook, before moving on at 24 to set up an independent travel agency and golf tour operator.

Alan moved with his family to Dubai in 2007 and set up Expat Sport, bringing together his passions: travel and sport. Today Expat Sport is one of the most respected and trusted sports tourism companies in the Middle East.

Most memorable sporting achievement: Completing the London Marathon is my most satisfying sporting achievement, but my most favourite sporting memory is scoring the winning goal for my Sunday league team with a half volley from close to the half way line. Sadly, no footage (proof) is available!

Most memorable sporting event:  My fellow director Steve has already claimed the 2002 World Cup (we travelled together) so it has to be with the Lions tour of South Africa. This was my introduction to rugby - when I fell in love with the game.

NASIR AHMED

HEAD OF CRICKET
Nasir has over 20 years of commercial experience in sales, events, business development and client-facing roles. He has previously worked for Procter & Gamble and a UK defence organisation.  A career change brought Nasir to Dubai, where he worked with the International Cricket Council and ICC Academy. He was also the Manager of the UAE National Cricket team. Nasir joined Expat Sport in 2018 as Head of Cricket where he predominantly works on commercial partnerships and sponsorships.
Cricket has been Nasir’s passion since an early age. He has travelled the world to watch more than 300 international cricket matches, including trips to the Caribbean, South Africa, India and the UAE. He's even writing a book about his cricket journey!

Most memorable sporting achievement
I played a lot of cricket in my younger days and was a regular for three local cricket teams. As an aspiring young fast bowler my career best bowling figures for Greenhead Boys CC were 4/13 on a very flat Yorkshire track. Unfortunately there is no formal record of those statistics as the internet had not been invented back then!

Most memorable sporting event
I spent many years of heartbreak watching my beloved Pakistan lose to India in ICC events. So watching live at the Oval as Pakistan defeated the old enemy and lifted the ICC Champions Trophy in June 2017 was a day I will never forget!
